Our History
Steppers Construction began as a small partnership working together on small residential projects in the early 1980’s. It quickly grew to multi-million annum, and profits were invested back into the company by purchasing equipment, facilities, and real estate. Centrally located in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Steppers’ facilities have grown to include a 13,000-square foot shop and administration offices. The company is owned and managed by Aspen Sanders and Forrest Charles who lead a team of highly trained and qualified personnel.

Forrest Charles
Chief Operations Officer - COO
Forrest brings over twenty years of construction experience to the team, with expertise in equipment operation, carpentry, scheduling, and project supervision. He is hands-on with each project, overseeing crews and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards. From estimating and bidding to managing resources and solving challenges on site, Forrest makes sure every detail is handled. His background includes wood and steel structures, strategic planning, budgeting, and contract coordination, giving clients confidence that their projects will be completed efficiently and effectively.
Aspen Sanders
Chief Executive and Financial Officer CEO/CFO
Aspen has extensive experience in project administration, contract compliance, and financial management. She oversees bid and submittal preparation, subcontract documentation, and project closeout to ensure every detail is handled with accuracy. Aspen has managed compliance for multi-million-dollar commercial projects and developed procedures that keep accounting and budgeting on track. Skilled in Sage Construction accounting software, she manages payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and reporting for insurance, bonding, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements, providing vital support to each project’s success.
